Deep analysis of Wuling Xingchen engine technology
Wuling Xingchen is equipped with a 1.5 T engine code-named LJO, which is a domestic engine independently developed by SAIC-GM-Wuling.
LJO is a 1.5T inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine. This engine may be biased towards home in power output, and its lower torque performance will be improved compared with the old engine. It is clear that the technical content of LJO engine is much higher than that of L2B engine, but what is the performance of this LJO engine carried by Wuling Xingchen? Let’s take a look together.
Also equipped with this engine are some models of Wuling Capgemini, the new Baojun 530, Baojun RS-5 and other series. Below is a comparison chart of some models.
In terms of power performance, the peak horsepower of Wuling LJO engine is 147 horsepower, the maximum horsepower speed is 5200 rpm, the maximum torque is 250N·m, and the maximum torque speed range is 2200rpm to 3400rpm. Compared with the engines of the same level in the whole industry, there is no obvious advantage.
The power system of Wuling Xingchen is equipped with two powertrains, 1.5T+6MT and 1.5T+CVT. With the support of CVT stepless speed change, the torque platform of the compression engine can further improve the low-speed dynamic performance of the vehicle, and basically eliminate the frustration when shifting gears. The transmission effect is still very good, which can make the vehicle have good dynamic performance.
The comprehensive fuel consumption of NEDC, a powertrain composed of LJO engine and 6-speed manual transmission, is 7.1 liters per 100 kilometers; The comprehensive fuel consumption of NEDC, a powertrain composed of CVT stepless gearbox with simulated 8 gears, is 7.7 liters per 100 kilometers. To tell the truth, fuel economy is not so good in engines with the same technical route. Multipoint injection is used in the fuel injection system, which is difficult to achieve high torque and high power by low pressure fuel injection technology in the intake manifold. Secondly, the efficiency of the supercharger is relatively poor. Under the premise that the torque is not large enough, only through the supercharger can the maximum torque appear earlier and fall later to achieve fuel saving and power improvement.
In terms of environmental indicators, the exhaust quality of LJO engine can meet the national sixth stage B emission standard, and the noise level combined with the pricing and positioning of vehicles is also acceptable.
Based on the overall performance of Wuling or Baojun models equipped with this engine, the power performance, economic performance, environmental performance, reliability and durability of Wuling LJO engine are above average, and the fuel economy is not bad. However, the performance of engine and transmission after loading is more important, and the performance of the same powertrain is different on different models.
Changan Auchan X5, a compact SUV with Wuling Xingchen, is equipped with JL473ZQ2 Blue Whale engine, which is equipped with a double scroll turbocharger to further compress the power. Coupled with the aluminum alloy cylinder head block, the weight of the car body is optimized and the fuel consumption is reduced by about 7%. The engine adopts in-cylinder direct injection technology, which can realize up to 5 fuel injections in one stroke.
Changan Auchan X5 2022 Sports 1.5T DCT Cyclone Charge This car has a maximum power of 132kW, a maximum torque of 300N·m, and a maximum torque speed range of 1250rpm to 3500rpm, which means that when using the car, you can output the maximum torque by slightly stepping on the accelerator, and the power output is strong and smooth.
From the detailed data comparison and analysis, the performance of LJO engine matched with Wuling Xingchen is better than that of JL473ZQ2 Blue Whale engine in Chang ‘an, although there are some gaps. LJO engines are basically in the middle and upper reaches of the industry. What do you think? Welcome to discuss in the comments section.
